Shreveport native Dr. Sockrider received his medical education at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and continued there to complete a six year surgical residency. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
In 2003, Dr. Sockrider entered medical practice and pursued additional training in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease. New technologies such as breast ultrasound and minimally invasive biopsy are of particular interest to Dr. Sockrider. He has advanced his skills in this field by actively participating in national professional breast care societies. Because of his specialized knowledge, Dr. Sockrider brings the most advanced breast care and latest techniques to our community.
In 2006, he partnered in the first dedicated breast care surgical practice in our community. This practice introduced a variety of minimally invasive office based procedures including MammoSite placement. Dr. Sockrider performed the first Cryoablation (freezing) of a breast fibroadenoma in Louisiana.
In 2007, he founded Breast Care Specialists to provide the best possible care to the widest range of patients and insurance plans in the community.
Dr. Sockrider believes that no amount of technology is a substitute for time spent with patients. Personal relationships formed with patients are a defining part of his practice.

A lifelong resident of Shreveport, Dr. Sockrider is married and has four children.
Shreveport native Dr. Broadwell received her medical education at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and continued there to complete a five year surgical residency. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
PROFESSIONAL BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Broadwell then completed an additional year of fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology at the prestigious University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. This training included further experience in genetic counseling, nipple and skin sparing mastectomy as well as management of benign and malignant breast disease. During that time she published articles in the Annuals of Surgical Oncology as well as the Journal of Surgical Oncology.
In 2011, Dr. Broadwell joined Breast Care Specialists committed to bring the latest in the treatment of breast cancer and breast disease to our community. She was Shreveport-Bossier’s first female breast surgeon and first fellowship trained Breast Oncologist.
Dr. Broadwell has made traveling medical missionary work an important part of her life. She has traveled extensively during her training and continues that work today.
